Slip Resistance Rating
-
"Enhanced slip resistance" is an important talking point during the sales process. This is especially true of the aging population. They may recognize safety as the most important quality of a shower base (it is). Slips and falls in the bathroom are the most common way to injure yourself in the home and can be the flashpoint for assisted living.
-
Some commercial jobs demand a Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) > .42 in order to be code accepted. Our shower base will meet or exceed this number.
-
Our shower bases are minted with a unique textured slip resistant surface not found on standard heat formed acrylic shower bases or common cultured marble and onyx bases.

Exceeds Thermal Shock Cycles by over 700%!
According to the relevant ANSI standard which governs shower floor quality (Z124-2017), shower bases must be subjected to a thermal shock cycle test.
In short, they run alternating scalding hot water and really cold water on the pan and see how long it takes for the part to crack or show signs of stress. The ANSI standard requires 250 cycles to achieve a passing grade. We have paid IAPMO to continue running the test on our product for 2000 cycles before shutting it down, that's 8x as many cycles, with no blemish to show for it. This is one of many kinds of testing that we feel shows we have a superior quality part.

Every Base is Proven To Drain Water
A checklist of several important features for shower bases are considered before putting anything in a box to ship to a customer. This includes running water on a level table to ensure proper drainage.
-
Included in each box is a flyer reminding the installer exactly how to get great drainage in the field. You can preview the front and back of that flyer on the left.
-
The short video on the left shows post production testing using a forceful water cleaning brush to ensure that water drains properly with the cover plate in place. Following testing the cover will be removed, the base is dried off, and the product is packaged and shipped.
